CHASE THE BLUES WITH LAUGHTER... Monday - 10/15/2012

I am currently on a Candy Corn high thanks to my local Dollar Store.

I was actually looking for Smarties, which I found, and directly above them was a box overflowing with Candy Corn.

I was a good kid and only bought one bag of each, but I'm going back tomorrow since the only time I seem to be able to find either of these little treats is during this time of year.
(caption reads 'seems to me you're inviting trouble.')
They can go into my sweet tooth inventory for consumption through out the upcoming winter months while I hibernate along with the bears. I just hope I don't come out looking like one when spring finally arrives.

The bag of Candy Corn states 'Made with real honey' and 'a fat free food.' However, 24 pieces have 150 calories, 115mg Sodium, 28g sugar, 37g carbs and I wasn't even able to eat 24 because of how sweet they are. Probably a good thing, eh?

Any who... back to the blues and laughter...

I have been fighting the blues (depression) for a few weeks (pain is such a... well... pain),
but am doing my very best to work through it aided by web surfing for my various blogs.

I sometimes think that is the only sanity I maintain, although 'surfing' will occasionally cause you to go momentarily insane (and possibly blind
) when sites come up that you had no interest in at all.
Some of them have caused my eyebrows to rise way beyond my hairline
and I'm not a prude by any means.

But... REALLY??
If I wanted porn or XXX rated sites or things of that nature I simply would have typed it in and let my fingers do the walking whilst (giggles) I enjoyed myself.
...
However, since I prefer a partner under those circumstances, let us move forward into the matter of laughter without the erotica. Although (side note)... laughter during sex is not a bad thing. Just sayn...

Wiki has quite a bit to say about laughter, but I'm simply going to say that I, myself, could not live without it. I have been a firm believer that 'laughter is indeed the best medicine,'
and even though I think my doctors would like me to be more serious... life is serious enough on its own, so doctors be damned!!
I do know the benefits of laughter are more than we can possibly count (just like hugs). For instance:

- Laughter reduces the level of stress hormones in our bodies

- Laughter provides both a physical and emotional release.

- Laughter can be a good workout for your abs, diaphragm, and shoulders.

- Laughter leaves you feeling more relaxed.

- Laughter brings the focus away from negative emotions.

- Laughter can give us a more positive outlook on a situation.

- Laughter connects us with others.

- Laughter increases oxygen level in our body which helps the body to heal itself and resist further infection.

- Blood pressure is reduced while blood vessels expand close to skin surface and improve the circulation, which is why often people seem to blush or go red while laughing.

- Our breath quickens as we inhale deeply and exhale through our vocal cords.

- Researchers at University of Maryland theorize that while we laugh beta-endorphin like compounds released (natural pain killers) by our body and which results in preventing ulcers and digestive disorders.

- Laughing has been called ‘stationary jogging', because when we laugh every organ in our body is affected.

And... the intention of this blog has been to 'hopefully'... bring a smile, cause some giggles, perhaps a snortle or two and even a full blown laugh along the way.

YAY FOR MONDAYYYYYYY. Why can't we just have three day weekends every week?
Love that mirror mirror one the best. LOL
my eldest daughter just said "fun is for retired people". i thought you'd enjoy that.
thanks for the smiles this morning. maybe this afternoon i'll come back and it will be giggles.
What a long blog!! Made me smile!!!
Thanks for the laughter..... you got me smiling there. Trying to fight the heartache but am a strong woman i will emerge strongest!!
HAPPY MONDAY !!!!!!!!!!
I feel so down today, thank you for the LOL.
@olwd - When I was working I often asked that very same question.
@promisesunshine - How old is your daughter again? LOL...
Happy to bring a smile. That's a good start for a Monday!!
@andreas_d - That it was, Andreas. I've been known to scare people away because of the length of my blogs.
... A smile is a positive on any Monday.
Thank you for recommending. Always wonderful to have you visit!!
And? . . . I wonder if I asked what they'd say? hehehe
@MissNzisa - Am happy I could bring a smile under your current circumstances. Truly sorry to hear about the outcome, but you are an intelligent woman and yes... you will come through stronger than ever. Still, I'd like to give that young man a piece of my mind!! He would be running the other direction before I was finished.
Warm ((((hugs))), my dear.
Thank you for recommending. Truly appreciated.
@Want2FitIn2Fat2Fit - Thanks my dear.
@RestlessButterfly - Warm wrap around ((((hugs)))), Rez. Glad I could bring a little laughter into your Monday. Take care....
Thank you for recommending. Always wonderful to have you stop by for a visit.
@olwd - They might ask you if you wanted a permanent vacation SOON!
YIKES!!!
Actually they've told me many times that I'm the one that holds this place together. I've been here the longest out of all the ladies now. Sad to say, but they are nice people, so I don't mind it.
@MzSilver - she's creeping up on 16. help me.
@olwd - I can relate to the 'the glue that holds the place together' comment. Sometimes that's a blessing. At other times it isn't especially if they take advantage. I loved every job I had (7 in 51 years) but when you are practically running a company and not getting paid for the efforts or appreciated for that matter, then it is time to look for a new plan. Especially when the overload of stress creates health issues. Mine was retirement. *smile...
@MzSilver - Yes, I remember you saying that before and I understand completely. I suppose once I'm done with my degree I'll have more opportunities available.
@olwd - We will keep prayers going that is the case. The economy is tough these days but I think you are tougher. You'll do fine and there isn't anything wrong with being the 'go to' person in a company. You just need to stand your ground at times. *smile...
@promisesunshine - EXACTLY! I do remember. Not only from a Mom point of view, but from my own teen years.
These are just too funny that poor guy getting the washroom signed changed was a hoot...
Aye Aye Matey, will do.
Thanks dear.
yep Garfiedis right and that is why I am over weight.
Thanks for the chuckles and hugs and loves your way sweet lady and now I am going to have to go to Dollar Tree tomorrow for the candy corn and I am going to blame it all on you.
:):)
@Grannys_Place - I will accept said blame with a smile, Ruth. I couldn't pass it up and I did get a couple more bags so I have them in stock. But I didn't go overboard. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. LOL...
MAJOR HUGS your way, sweet lady. Make sure you give some to TD!!
@MzSilver - well now ya did it. I no tonly got candy corn but chocolate too:):):
