THANK YOU TO MY FELLOW XANGANS... Saturday - 10/27/2012
Two simple words which express a variety of feelings that may be hard to explain. And that is certainly the case today, as I try to express how completely blown away I was by the response to the news of my Dads passing.
The generous outpouring of love and support was amazing and the number of people who recommended the post for others to read truly boggled my mind.
Your thoughts were upbeat and caring, your prayers appreciated and the number of hugs included helped to brighten a week that would have been far tougher had each of you not taken a moment to share a little of your valuable time with me.
I think perhaps the biggest surprise of all were the number of wonderful comments from Xangans I have never met. I know this community is large, but I don't believe I knew how large until this week when that particular blog showed over 1800 views and is still growing.
So... if you haven't gotten the gist of this blog. It is my way of letting each of you know how much you have touched my heart. It has indeed been a tough week, yet it has been made easier because of each of you and your heartfelt gems that will be forever treasured.
Dads services will be held on Wednesday, 10/31/2012. Since he was in the military (Navy), there will be a special service prior to the one planned by the family. Taps will be played and his wife will be presented with a flag for services rendered. Although I am not sure how my Dad would have felt about this, I do know that it makes me very proud to be his daughter and to be able to share in this moment.
Once again, from deep within my heart...
